We are not the mass merchant. We don't run a big warehouse full of closeouts, but rather sell the products we feel work best for our favorite sports. Our prices are competitive, but we also aim to win your business with our service.

Earn extra discounts and learn about special promotions by qualifying for a FREE Mike's Club membership. To become a member, all you need to do is spend $500 at one time on Winter sports products. You will receive 10% off all non-sale merchandise. Not only that, but you will actually receive 10% off in our store all the time (bike sales excluded). Club members will enjoy some private discounts and promotions as well.What's the catch? Not much! Mike's Club discounts will not be combined with other offers or sales. Mike's Club members must stay subscribed to our monthly e-newsletter, and provide a mailing address upon signing up. We do not share this information! Mike's Club membership is not automatic. Pleae ask to be signed up when you make your qualifying order.
New Bicycle Purchase Service Contract
When you purchase a new bicycle from The Back Country or Tahoe City Bikes, we will tune up your bike for free all season (until the snow covers the trails). Overhaul work, bike cleaning, and new component installation labor is not free. For exact policy details, ask for a copy at either store.Return Policy
Goods purchased in the store can be exchanged for a full refund within 2 weeks, or store credit if returned within 30 days.For internet returns, you must call our customer service department at 1-888-625-8444 within 10 days of receiving the merchandise. There will be no return consideration if you call after this time period, or ship the item back without calling. When you call, We will issue you a return authorization number (RA#). Please print this RA# clearly on the outside of the box in which you ship your returned item to us. Please also include this RA#, along with a copy of your sales receipt, your name, email address, telephone number, and reason for return clearly printed or typed on a piece of paper inside the box. Domestic customers can call toll-free at 1-888-625-8444. International customers must call 530-582-0909. Customer service hours are 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday thru Friday, Pacific Standard Time.
We can only accept return merchandise that is in the same un-used condition as received. Returns of new items are accepted only with complete, undamaged packaging and all documentation or instructions originally included. Please remember we need to have the item in completely new sellable condition. For everyone's health and safety, we do not accept returns of perishable food items, climbing equipment, or water filters / purifiers. Some returns may be subject to a 15% restocking fee.
Make sure your package is packaged carefully, to prevent damage in shipping. You should always insure your package at shipping time, as it's only a few dollars more. If your package is lost or damaged en route to us, the shipping company will only deal with you and we can not help in that case. We recommend that you use FedEx or UPS, who have very easy tracking. If you choose United States Postal Service, please be sure to address your package to P.O. Box 6706 (see above) and request a delivery confirmation receipt. We do not have general mail delivery and this way you will receive confirmation when the package has been delivered. You are responsible for all shipping charges in returning merchandise. Please enclose everything mentioned in the previous paragraph so that we can process your return as quickly as possible. Allow approximately 1 week for returns to be processed.
