We're planning to do the desolation traverse again this march, probably the weekend of march 12 or march 19'th. Last time we took 2.5 days went from rocky canyon and traversed across pyramid, peak9686, agassiz, price, jacks, dicks and out via tallac. This time we'll probably focus less on the peak baggin and more on the riding. We've got 3-4 folks signed up so far, but thought i'd post for the other folk that were interrested that i've met on the hills.(Was it Ben? -- can't remember your names, but the guys we met on tallac a few weeks ago that said they were interrested). My email is wrong on this board, so don't PM me,but post a reply and i can PM you.

--We'll pick the weekend based on weather/snow. backup would be high sierras or lassen.
--probably ski out via dicks towards maggies direction vs tallac this time.
--probably meet at rocky canyon friday afternoon/night and leave monday morning... gives more time to hit more lines instead of always moving your camp. (note, i've talked to folks that have done this trip in one super long day before, but i think to really ski the fun stuff 3days is right on).

That sounds like a great plan and just I might be able to make it. I'm an AT skier currently on a dynafit setup (I recently upgraded from fritschi + TR9s and should probably do a shakedown trip on pyramid or carson pass before I commit to any multi-day trips). I'm fully self sufficient and have all the gear, minus ice axe and crampons.

It's been my dream to circumnavigate Crater Lake in Oregon for several years now, and I'm looking for people who'd like to cover the hilly 35 miles around in either a very long day, or make it two or three leisurely ones.

Let me know if you need another couple team members.

Sorry for the late response, i haven't been checking the post on this board...

Sounds like the dates are frozen as 3/19-3/21.
We'll meet at Emerald bay early saturday morning (6am ish) and shuttle over to hwy 50/rocky creek canyon. Sounds like about 6-8 folks, and klaus you and your gang are welcome to join.
