Went on a fun day trip to Round Top yesterday. Started out bluebird with 2 other cars in the parking lot! At Noon!

Went to the top, hoping to do Crescent Couloir, but after digging 2 pits that failed pretty quickly (see the end of the video...), we hung our heads and made some turns in the apron below. The instability was mainly on the hanging snow field and at the very top of the couloir, and the apron was stable.

Here's some pics...
... see no cars? WTF?

Did a few laps on the lower apron and ran into 2 other folks.

Here's the video (how do you embed vids here?)

And I think my verdicts are done... but would like to keep them around as rock skis. Anyone have any ideas of how I could "fix" this? My edge blew out last year, put in some screws (and blew out again) then, there's a section of it that's loose. I epoxied that back on.

What's the verdict? Done? or can you re-do edges somehow?

nice one guys. great flip. I never had the guts to even do a helicopter. Or is that old school talk, it's probably called something better now.

nice.
this past Sunday (12/12) was very icy and never really softened up because of wind. We did one run off of East ridge and one from the saddle b/w RT and Sisters and it was a bit of survival skiing... beautiful views, as always, though.
