this board has not been very active this year, probably a sign of how bad the winter has been? I got abunch of BC skiing doe around Carson pass, none of it multiday though.

I am looking to do a 2-3 day trip next week, does anyone know the snow coverage (where does snow start, snow coverage in the couloirs) around any of the following:
- Matterhorn in Sawtooths
- Mt Tom
- Palisades (U-Notch, V-Notch)

thanks in advance!!

I was thinking about heading down to the Sawtooths myself. Last beta I saw on snow around Twin Lakes was in the Incredible Hulk Couloir post on 2/23.

The sawtooths are skiing really well up high right now, but the bottom 500 vert or so is bony, if not dirt. walk the Horse Creek trail for 45 min on either end and it makes for a pretty decent tour. VA Lakes road is also open (as it has been all season), just skied up there today with boot deep wind-loaded pow on north faces and "butter on toast" south faces. Many people on the eastside have been complaining that the skiing sucks, those of us in Bridgeport have no idea what they're talking about.

thanks for all the updates.

Glen, I will not know until Thursday whether I can take Fri off or only the weekend. If I can take Fri off, I would up for meeting at Twin Lakes early Sat morning and spend Sat and Sun under Matterhorn - does that sound good?

my email is kovarpa at yahoo
