Anyone been out this week? How is coverage looking? I heard rumors that it is not great coverage down at lake level. Is coverage adequate at stuff that starts from at or near the passes?

I skied Rose Knob today (Sunday 2/5/12) and there was actually some nice recrystallized powder plus new powder that accumulated from the 2-3" storm this past tuesday (but accumulated up to 8-10" deep from drifting and holding in forests). Much better than it looks from the parking road end.

I skied south face of ralston on 2/5 and it was pretty grim... able to skin all the way to the summit but lots of rocks to dodge on the way down. Very thin coverage in the upper bowl and could only ski about 3/4 of the way down.

Need more snow for this one!

All I know is that if we keep getting no snow and some warmer temps, the approaches to Eastside alpine climbs are going to be getting easier....
