The Red Slate Couloir has been on my radar since the 90's. Finally got to it on Tuesday. Clear skis, light wind, clean approach, and POWDER in the chute!

After hearing less than great things about the traverse off the top we opted for the "Alt Entrance". It was filled and quite nice.

All in all, a great day.
5:30am start. 11:30am dropping into the chute. 1:30pm back at the car.
8 hr round trip.
Walked for about 30min around Convict lake and then skinned up to about 12,400 ft.
Alt entrance is at about 12,800 ft.
Approx 5000 vert.
Hard to imagine conditions being much better!
