hi
I am very interested in backcountry skiing, but have only done in situations with upward help, ie cats, snowmobile etc.
I would like to start AT skiing, but short on cash.
I need new alpine boots, and therefore am wondering if there is any AT boot that could do both AT and downhill well, so I don't have t purchase 2 sets of boots.
also what is the best beacon for the money.
thanks for the help

too much to say here, you really should come into the shop! We talk about this stuff all day long and have plenty of used gear as well as new. Plenty of serious performing AT boots in our shop new and used as well. You'll buy what fits best, and talking about models is mostly a waste of time if you want to know the truth. But in that category there is a lot on the market now.
