I'm planning to climb shasta this Winter. What I'm wondering is should I use mountaineering boots w/ Crampons, or a Randonee setup w/ crampons on my AT boots as needed? Thanks.

bringing skis along will lessen the time to climb, cut your descent time into a fraction of what it would be, and multiple the amount of fun you have on your trip by approximately fifteen orders of magnitude. highly recommended. bar and bale crampons will work as will classic strap crampons. mike will hook you up, just give him a buzz.
