My wife had her commute bike stolen which was an old Bridgestone mb-3 that had a high riser stem and upright bars. What do you have that may be something like it that we can add a rear rack to?

buy another awsome, solid bike like that used in the bay area. In the 2-300 price range I have Marin Bolinas Ridge demo bikes. I'd take an old school, high end mountain bike over these things anyday for pavement riding.

for off-road in the entry level prices, we have Jamis Durango 1.0 bikes that are quite a bit better than anything you'll find used at a comparable price. they are $550 new and we're doing 20% off. Forks and brakes work way better now than they did a few years ago. But for commuting, this is kind of a fancy looking bike with unneccessary suspension.
