Here's pics of some climbing we did today, 8/10/08.

Today we did a few warm up easy single pitch cracks across the street from Fairview Dome. Then after doing the regular route on Fairview, we did some sport climbing behind Daff Dome. Beautiful day with cold fall-like wind and some threatening clouds that rained nearby.

The regular route on Fairway Dome goes up the middle. This picture was taken from across the street in the morning. Tuolumne Meadows is 2.5 hours from my house in Tahoe City. Sweet!

Brad led the first pitch .It's rated 5.9, but seemed a little easier. I felt the one 5.9 part was right where Brad is in this picture. You can see a party above us in the pic on the left. I didn't have a watch, but I think this climb tooks us about 4 hours. The second pitch was really the best in my opinion and consistent 5.8. I got to lead this one. Then the climbing got progessively easier above that and we swapped leads a few times.

Walking down the slabs on the backside was easy, although you wouldn't enjoy it wet.

Love the climber's bike rack made out of a dog fence door and some rope.

View back at Fairview and Cathedral Peak from our late afternoon Daff Dome session.
